Bernie was my buddy and I miss him so much! His mind was sharp but his body was tired. He and Fez would give me the biggest welcome home greeting every day when I got home from work. He was my little shadow and would follow me everywhere. He had a unique personality for a dog. He watched TV and would bark at animals he saw on the screen especially horses. He barked at windshield wipers making travelling in the rain quite the experience. He also barked at overpass bridges and semitrucks. He barked at birds and airplanes in the sky. He would walk on the landscape bricks like he was a tightrope walker which he learned in doggy obedience training. He would run all the way across the dog park just to say hi to a person. One time while cooking on the stove, the smoke detector went off which he didn't like. From that point on every time he saw me cooking he would hide in our room. Bernie and Fez were 2 peas in a pod and played together for hours at a time in their younger years.
